If you combine free, hit mobile games with local deals and rewards, what do you get? A totally unique, hyper-local deal mobile app where everyone wins! Mobile users are encouraged to download and play free games to win rewards and deals based on their location. Mobile game developers can monetize their free games by using the Playloot API in an effective and non-intrusive way. Not to mention media companies, which are given an opportunity to enter the hot “Local Deal” space and take advantage of growth in mobile gaming.

With “PlayLoot” being a start-up company, minimizing time to market was essential. Design methods had to be fast and effective, yet viable on a low budget. As the only person responsible for the design, I filled multiple roles: brand manager, market researcher, user interface designer, and creative director. I worked closely with the team’s developers discussing technical limitations, usability and multi-platform compatibility. With multiple responsibilities I was able to successfully brand a company and ultimately design a product ready for market.

01 – Logo / Brand Design(1 of 4)

Playloot Logo and Brand

Playloot is a mobile app, designed to be used either on it’s own, as a white-label solution, or as a plug-in. With this in mind the logo was kept typographic, the font itself creating a sort of icon. The combination of both rounded and sharp corners of the font create a playfulness. The tag-line creates foundation and gives the relaxed font a business side, summing up the product into these simple words “Mobile Games. Real-Rewards.”

02 – Mobile UI Design Document (2 of 4)

Playloot UI Design

The challenge was creating a UI that could exist or integrate into many different mobile games, make sense to users and still have successful conversions. The player wins the game, the player goes through a few simple steps to get the “real reward” and finally, they redeem their rewards to the participating business.

NOTE: Condensed Version

In this condensed version of a PlayLoot presentation there were two purposes; educate the audience about this unique product, and gain interest from potential investors.
